The Founders' Stories

The start of a calling ...

Be healthy. Be loved. Be happy.

Dr HL Brandon Tan and Dr Ariel Tac Loh bring together a rare blend of corporate leadership, educational expertise, and lived compassion. With more than two decades in multinational corporations, Dr Brandon offers strategic clarity and organizational strength. Dr Ariel, an educator for over thirty years, has dedicated her life to supporting individuals with additional needs — a calling shaped by childhood experiences with classmates and relatives who taught her the quiet resilience of families, especially mothers, raising children toward independence.

Their shared mission deepened during a personal moment of uncertainty: a routine 12‑week pregnancy test that suggested the possibility of Down syndrome. Their child was ultimately born without the condition, but the weeks of waiting gave them a profound understanding of the fear, planning, and resolve families summon when facing the unknown. That experience crystallised a conviction they carry today — families who are prepared can rise to meet almost anything, but no family should have to do it alone.

With long‑time educator friends, Ms Jiang H Y, Mr Bradzen Guo and Ms Khloe Wan, nCareBeyond19 was started as a ground-up enterprise dedicated to helping families with youths with special needs beyond age 19 gain skills, employment, and a fulfilling life with a network group consisting of 4 families.
